What is the Minus 40 Tour?
In September, Colleen asked Dara to help her write a song to sing at a fundraiser banquet for a crisis pregnancy centre in Regina. "Child of My Heart" was born (with help from my cousin-in-law, Lisa Cornish, and my mom, Elizabeth A Taylor).
A few days later, Dara asked if Colleen would like to do a short tour in the new year. And the Minus 40 Tour was born!
The name of the tour comes directly from the time of year: January. We realize that anything can happen with the weather, which is why we are taking donations (tips, love offerings, passing the hat) rather than selling tickets (for most of our concerts). But for the concerts that go ahead, we are looking forward to fulfilling the subtitle: Songs to Warm Your Soul.
We will be sponsored by Every Little Thing, a lovely store in Strasbourg, owned and operated by two sisters, Jan and Terry. Every Little Thing will be donating a $5 gift certificate for every person who attends our concerts. We are also sponsored by Joanna Krentz of JDR Marketing in Strasbourg. Joanna is donating travel mugs and sticky note sets to give as door prizes.
